Side Effects

Sodium Stibogluconate in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Venous thrombosis .

Sodium Stibogluconate produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Hepatotoxicity , Cardiotoxicity , Renal toxicity. Careful monitoring is needed with proper medical management.

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Sodium Stibogluconate are Renal failure, Circulatory collapse, Disseminated intravascular coagulopathy.

Sodium Stibogluconate is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Anorexia , Arthralgia, Malaise, Myalgia, Nausea and vomiting.

Warnings / Precautions

Safety of the sodium stibogluconate has not been determined in pregnant women , in the children <18 months and the breast feeding mothers.
