Sickle cell anaemia

Anemia characterized by sickle shaped erythrocytes, in these cells, substitution of a single aminoacid takes place (i.e.valine for glutamic acid) at sixth position of beta chain of hemoglobin.result in increased hemolysis leads to decreased number of RBC`s .
