Bisacodyl
Bisacodyl is a stimulant laxative. Chemically Bisacodyl is identified as 4, 4'-(2-pyridylmethylene)diphenol diacetate. It acts by irritating the digestive tract and stimulates intestinal activity. Side Effects
Bisacodyl in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Malabsorption , Potassium depletion , Diarrhoea , Protein-losing gastroenteropathy .
Bisacodyl is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Cramps , Gastric irritation, Nausea, Vomiting .

Interference in Pathology
Bisacodyl may interfere in the diagnosis of Falsely low readings for urinary glucose with Clintest and Diastix but not with Testape .
