Indications
Prilocaine is primarily indicated in conditions like Infiltration anaesthesia (higher strengths for dental use only), Local anaesthesia, Local anaesthetic, Surgical anaesthesia.
Prilocaine is also indicated for secondary conditions like Pain in short surgical procedure..
Contraindications
Prilocaine is contraindicated in conditions like Anaemia, Methaemoglobinaemia.

Side Effects
Prilocaine in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Methemoglobinemia , Skin rashes , Tremors , Porphyria, Hypersensitivity.
Prilocaine produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Tinnitus, Anxiety, Circumoral numbness, Cardiovascular depression, Cardiac Arrest . Careful monitoring is needed with proper medical management.
The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Prilocaine are Anxiety , Cyanosis, Seizures, CNS toxicity, Methemoglobinemia, Numbness .
