Magnesium hydroxide (and oxide) is an antacid. It neutrilizes the gastric acidity and used in the treatment of peptic ulcer. It also acts as a saline cathartic and used in constipation. It increases the intestinal activity and cause defecation.

Side Effects

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Magnesium Oxides and Hydroxides are Cardiac arrhythmias, Respiratory depression, Cardiac arrest.
