Indications

Lynoestrenol is primarily indicated in conditions like Hormonal contraception.

Lynoestrenol is also indicated for secondary conditions like Endometritis, Uterine bleeding.

Contraindications

Lynoestrenol is contraindicated in conditions like Myocardial infarction, Pulmonary embolism, Vaginal bleeding, Hepatic disease, Cerebrovascular accident, Vascular disease, Deep vein thrombosis.

Side Effects

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Lynoestrenol are Mastalgia , Vomiting, Breast swelling, Nausea.

Lynoestrenol is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Acne, Alopecia, Breast tenderness, Changes in libido , Greasy hair, Hyperphagia, Irregular uterine bleeding, Nausea, Reduce vaginal secretion, Vaginal secretion, Vomiting , Weight gain.

Warnings / Precautions

Chloasma is occasionally seen during the use. Occasionally changes in parameters of liver function, carbohydrate metabolism and heamostatis may occur. The slight signs of the virilization ( such as acne and hirsutism) observed in some patient. Slighty incresed risk of some cardiovascular disorders has been reported. Some forms of severe depression, if likely to be exacerbated by sex steroids.

Interference in Pathology

Lynoestrenol may interfere in the diagnosis of Elevated ESR and Haematocrit Values , Elevation of Serum Iron, Copper and Alkaline Phosphatase.
