Indications

It can be used in all age groups provided that the precaution are taken. The drug may be used during pregnancy if absolutley essential. The drug should be used in reduced dosage in elderly patients. Patients receiving emetine should be closely supervised. ECG monitoring is advised during treatment with emetine. Avoid emetine in patients with cardiac, renal or neuromuscular diseases.
