Indications
Distigmine (Br) is primarily indicated in conditions like Intestinal atony, Neurogenic bladder, Postoperative ileus, Postoperative urinary retention, Prophylaxis of NSAID-associated gastric or duodenal ulcer.
Distigmine (Br) is also indicated for secondary conditions like Extravasation/haematoma, Myasthenia gravis.
Contraindications
Distigmine (Br) is contraindicated in conditions like Circulatory insufficiency, GI obstruction, Urinary outflow obstruction.

Side Effects
Distigmine (Br) in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include AV-block , Bronchospasm , Cholinergic crises , Sinus bradycardia , Dyspnea.
Distigmine (Br) produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Coma, Bradycardia , Convulsions , Neuromuscular blockage, Hypotension, Hypoxemia , Paralysis , Bronchoconstriction, Severe muscle weakness. Careful monitoring is needed with proper medical management.
The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Distigmine (Br) are Increased peristalsis, Retching, Spasticity, Nausea, Pallor, Paralysis , Sweating .
Distigmine (Br) is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Abdominal cramps, Diarrhea, Miosis , Salivation , SweatingX, Urinary urgency.
