Dinoprostone is a prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). Dinoprostone is used as an oxytocic for induction of abortions or in miscarriages and certain conditions of the womb (uterus).

Indications
Dinoprostone is primarily indicated in conditions like Abortion, Hydatidiform mole, Labor induction, Uterine atonia.
Contraindications
Dinoprostone is contraindicated in conditions like Asthma, Glucoma, Hepatic disease, Pulmonary disease, Pelvic inflammatory disease.

Side Effects
Dinoprostone in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Severe pain , Acute fetal distress .
Dinoprostone produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Cardiogenic collapse. Careful monitoring is needed with proper medical management.
The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Dinoprostone are Uterine hypertonus.
Dinoprostone is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Diarrhea, Dizziness, Erythema, Flushing, Nausea, Pallor, Syncope , Transient pyrexia, Vaginal burning, Vomiting .
