Icatibant is a Selective Competitive Antagonist at bradykinin type 2 receptor. it is a synthetic decapeptide with structure similar to bradykinin , but with 5-non-proteinogenic Amino Acids.it is mainly indicated for symptomatic treatment of acute attacks of hereditary Angioedema in adult with C- Esterase Inhibitor deficiency.

Side Effects
The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Icatibant are Hypotension, Erythema, itching.
Icatibant is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Abnormal LFT, Asthenia , Asthma, contusion, Cough , Dizziness, Erythema, Fatigue, Headache, hereditary angioedema, herpes zoster, Hot flushes, increase blood creatinine phosphokinase, increase Blood glucose, Injection site reactions, Nasal congestion , Nausea and vomiting, Pharyngitis, prolong prothrombin time, Proteinuria , Pruritus , Pyrexia , Rashes , Urticaria.
