Side Effects

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Vandetanib are Diarrhea, Hypertension, QT prolongation, Rashes .

Vandetanib is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Blurred vision, Diarrhea, Hypertension , Nausea, QT prolongation, Rashes .

Warnings / Precautions

Vandetanib should not be started in patients with QTc prolongation and in patients with a history of torsade de points unless corrected. Monitor ECG and blood tests during treatment. Maintain a normal range of serum electrolytes to reduce the risk of QTc prolongation. It should not be used in patients with posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome. This syndrome should be considered in patients with seizures, headache, visual disturbances, confusion or altered mental function. Discontinue the drug if Steven Johnsons syndrome or severe diarrhea occur. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen to prevent phototoxicity. Use with caution in patients with brain metastases, heart failure, hypertension, renal and hepatic impairment, ALT elevation or interstitial disease.
