Clomiphene is a synthetic gonad stimulating principle structurally related to the proestrogen chlorotrianisene, consisting of a mixture of trans and cis isomers. Clomiphene (Citrate) is effective in treating infertility. It increases the secretion of gonadotropins and estrogens. It can also be used as a diagnostic agent. Administered orally.
