Methoxyflurane is a general inhalation anesthetic used for the induction and maintainence of general anesthesia.It induces muscle relaxation and reduces pain sensitivity by altering tissues excitibilty.It does so by decreasing the extent of gap junction mediated cell-cell coupling and altering the activity of the channels.

Indications

Side Effects

methoxyflurane in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Nephrotoxicity , Renal failure , Increased serum creatinine , Laryngospasm, Oxaluria.

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of methoxyflurane are Bradycardia, Hypotension, Respiratory depression, Respiratory depression, Cardiac arrest, Respiratory depression, Malignant hyperthermia.
