Lysozyme (HCl) is an enzyme mucopolysacchridase that is used for its antimicrobial properties. Lysozyme (HCl) is active especially against gram +ve bacteria, but also active against some viruses and gram -ve bacteria. Lysozyme (HCl) is used as an adjunct in the treatment of herpes zoster and other viral infections and for mouth and respiratory-tract disorders.
