Nisoldipine is a calcium-channel antagonist with actions and uses similar to those of nifedipine. It belongs to dihydropyridine class of calcium-channel antagonist that includes nifedipine, amlodipine, felodipine isradipine. In general, the dihydropyridine-type calcium-channel antagonists have more prominent effects on vasodilation and coronary flow than do diltiazem and verapamil. Nisoldipine is used in the treatment of Prinzmetal's angina, hypertension, and other vascular disorders such as Raynaud's phenomenon.

Absorption: Nisoldipine has an oral bioavailability is 6% (±2%), pre-systemic (first-pass) metabolism accounts for 47.5% (±47.5%).

Elimination: plasma half-life is 7-12 hr, renal excretion is 0.1 % (unchanged), 90 % (as metabolite).
