Indications

Cetrimide is primarily indicated in conditions like Dandruff, Infected wounds, Psoriasis, Seborrheic dermatitis, Seborrhoea of scalp.

Contraindications

Cetrimide is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity to any component of product.

Side Effects

Cetrimide in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Corneal irritation, Erosion , Ulceration .

Cetrimide produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Coma, Convulsions , Cyanosis, Asphyxia, CNS depression, Hypotension/hypertension. Careful monitoring is needed with proper medical management.

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Cetrimide are Convulsions , Central paralysis.

Cetrimide is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Dyspnea, Falling of the Hair, Hypersensitivity , Irritative skin reactions, Nausea, Vomiting .

Warnings / Precautions

Avoid use of drug in patients who have previously experienced an allergic reaction such as rash, itching or irritation. Contact with eyes should be avoided.

Interference in Pathology

Cetrimide may interfere in the diagnosis of Gives blue colour with Albustix and Labstix qualitative urine tests for protein. .
