A small smooth erect glabrous shrub; leaves 8 mm long, sessile, lanceolate; flowers bluish purple in axillary or terminal spikes; calyx 2-lipped, 5-toothed; corolla 2-lipped, upper lip erect, notched, lower spreading, 3-lobed, middle very broad, stamens 4, unequal, extorted; nutlets narrow smooth, 3-cornered
