Description

Hyoscyamus niger Linn.. A medium size to large erect herb with unpleasant heavy odour, radical leaves 15-20 cm, entire or coarsely sinuate-toothed or lobed, oblong-ovate, stem leaves smaller, sessile, ovate, lobed, changing into bracts above; flowers 2.5-3.0 cm in diameter, dark, yellowish green,veined with purple, sessile on one side, spikes roll back at first and then become straight; calyx 2 cm, tube ovoid, lobes funnel-shaped, 5-toothed; corolla funnel-shaped, lobes 5, stamens 5; capsules 1.2 cm in diameter, enclosed in the swollen tube of the enlarged calyx
