Bethanechol (Cl)
Bethanechol is a cholinergic agonist and is mainly muscarinic in action. Chemically, it has the structural features of both methacholine and carbachol. Bethanechol (Cl) is resistant to hydrolysis by cholinesterase. Bethanechol (Cl) is used to stimulate the smooth muscle contraction of the urinary bladder and gastrointestinal tract. Administered orally or subcutaneously.

Indications
Bethanechol (Cl) is primarily indicated in conditions like Adynamic ileus, Gastric atony, Gastric retention, Mega colon, Reflux oesophagitis, Urinary retention.
Bethanechol (Cl) is also indicated for secondary conditions like Urinary retention.
Contraindications
Bethanechol (Cl) is contraindicated in conditions like Asthma, Epilepsy, Hyperthyroidism, Myocardial infarction, Parkinsonism, Bradycardia, Vagotonia, Intestinal obstruction, Hypotension, Pronounced vasomotor instability, Urinary outflow obstruction, Gastric obstruction, Recent intestinal anastomosis.
