Vigabatrin
Also known as: Gamma Vinyl Aminobutyric Acid
Vigabatrin is anticonvulsant agent. Vigabatrin is analogue of GABA (gamma amino-butyric acid). GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, which is thought to be deficient in epilepsy, and able to stabilise discharges from epileptic foci. Vigabatrin is used in treatment of epilepsy, especially when not controlled by other drugs.

Elimination: plasma half-life is 7-8 hr.

Side Effects
