Famotidine is a histamine H2 receptor blocker and inhibits secretion of gastric acid produced by histamine. itused to treat and prevent duodenal and peptic ulcers, zollinger-ellison syndrome (hypersecretion of HCl) to treat gastroesophageal reflux disorder (heart burn).

Famotidine is primarily indicated in conditions like Benign gastric and duodenal ulceration, Benign gastric ulcer, Duodenal ulceration, Duodenal ulcer, Duodenal ulcer relapse prophylaxis, Reflux oesophagitis, Zollinger-ellison syndrome.

Famotidine is also indicated for secondary conditions like Dyspepsia, Heart burn.

Contraindications

Famotidine is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity, Gastric malignancy.
