Indications
Etretinate is primarily indicated in conditions like Autosomal dominant ichthyosis, Bullous dermatoses, Dariers disease, Epidermal neoplastic disorders, Keratiniztion disorders, Lichen planus, Nevus unius laterlis, Psoriasis, Sex-linked ichthyosis.
Contraindications
Etretinate is contraindicated in conditions like Diabetes mellitus, Pregnancy.

Side Effects
Etretinate in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Congenital malformation , Abortions, Hyperlipidemic effects , Osseous abnormalities , Intracranial hypertension .
Etretinate produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Hepatotoxicity , Vit A overdosage, Elevation of liver enzymes. Careful monitoring is needed with proper medical management.
The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Etretinate are Severe headache, Drowsiness, Nausea & vomiting, Irritability, Vit A poisoning.
Etretinate is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Cheilitis, Conjunctivitis, Eczematous rash, Itching, Nasal bleeding.

Etretinate may interfere in the diagnosis of Elevations of SGPT and SGOT , Increased Alkaline Phosphatase Levels, Elevation in ALT or AST, Increased in serum creatinin, Elevation in BUN, Elevation of LDH.
