Carglumic Acid or N-carbamoyl L-Glutamic Acid is an aminoacid and is an structural analogue of N-Acetylglutamate that acts by activating carbamoyl Phosphate synthetase enzyme which catalyzes the formation of Arginine and Urea from ammonia and thereby lowers blood ammonia level.Carglumic acid is indicated for the treatment of hyperammonemia and hyperglutamenemia due to N-Acetylglutamate synthetase (NAGS) deficiency
