Colestipol (HCl) is very large polymeric anion-exchange resins that is insoluble in water. Colestipol (HCl) is effective in reducing the high levels of cholesterol in blood.

Periodically measure serum triglyceride level to detect significant changes. These agents may produced or severely worsen pre-existing constipation. A laxatives, stool softener or increased fluid intake may be helpful.

Interference in Pathology

Colestipol (HCl) may interfere in the diagnosis of Increased Values for LFTs .
