Indications

Ipodate is primarily indicated in conditions like Hyperthyroidism of graves disease.

Ipodate is also indicated for secondary conditions like Cholecystography.

Contraindications

Ipodate is contraindicated in conditions like Renal impairment.

Side Effects

Ipodate in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Allergic reactions , Hepatic impairment .

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Ipodate are Bradycardia, Diarrhea.

Ipodate is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Abdominal cramps, Dizziness, Headache, Heart burn, Nausea and vomiting.

Warnings / Precautions

Make sure your doctor knows if you are planning to have any future thyroid tests. Patients sensitive to iodine or other iodinated contrast media may be sensitive to these agents also. The results of the thyroid test may be affected, even weeks or months later, by the iodine in this agent.

Interference in Pathology

Ipodate may interfere in the diagnosis of Thyroid Funtion Test.
