Eptifibatide is an antiplatelet drug that inhibits glycoprotein II b/ III a. Eptifibatide is used intravenously in the management of unstable angina and in patients undergoing angioplastic coronary interventions. In the latter case, the events of myocardial infarction or death have been reduced to 20%.

Indications

Eptifibatide is primarily indicated in conditions like Acute coronary syndrome (without st-segment elevation), Blood clot, Myocardial infarction, Unstable angina.

Contraindications

Eptifibatide is contraindicated in conditions like Stroke, Severe hypotension, Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Dosage

Side Effects

Eptifibatide in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Hypotension , Hypotension , Inflamation of vein.

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Eptifibatide are Severe bleeding.

Eptifibatide is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Allergic reaction, Anemia, Bleeding .
