Cholecalciferol is a naturally ocurring form of vitamin D (a fat-soluble vitamin). Cholecalciferol is produced from 7-dehydrocholesterol, a sterol present in mamalian skin, by ultraviolet irradiations. It used in the treatment and prevention of vitamin D deficiency states and some other bone disorders.

Cholecalciferol is primarily indicated in conditions like Hypocalcaemia, Rickets, Vitamin D deficiency.

Contraindications

Cholecalciferol is contraindicated in conditions like Hypercalcaemia, Hypersensitivity to any component of product.

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Cholecalciferol are Thirst , lassitude, Headache, Anorexia , Vertigo , Polyuria, Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, Sweating .

Cholecalciferol is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Anorexia , Diarrhea, Lassitude , Nausea and vomiting.
