Cholera Vaccine is a sterile suspension of killed Vibrio cholerae selected for high antigenic efficiency in a suitable diluent. It covnsists of a mixture of equal parts of suspension of cholera vibrios of the inaba and ogawa strains.

Side Effects

Cholera Vaccine in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Anaphylaxis , Hypersensitivity reactions , Neurological and psychiatric reactions.

Cholera Vaccine is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Erythema, Fever, Malaise, Sweating , Tenderness .

Warnings / Precautions

Vaccination should be postpond in patients suffering from any acute illness. Before injection of a vaccine any alcohol or disinfactant used for cleansing the skin should be allowed to evaporate otherwise inactivation of live vaccine may occur.
