Typhoid Vaccine in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Anaphylactoid reactions .

Typhoid Vaccine is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Abdominal pain, Diarrhea, Erythema, Fever, General aches, Headache, Itching, Malaise, Myalgia, Nausea, Pain , Redness, SwellingX, Vomiting .

Warnings / Precautions

Vaccine should be used with caution in patients with any illness, infection, allergy or if patients receiving radiation therapy. It should be used during pregnancy or lactation only if clearly needed. The vaccine should be postponed in subjects suffering from acute fibrile illness. The vaccine protects against typhoid fever caused by Salmonella typhi. Protection is not conferred against parathyroid fever or illness caused by non-invasive Salmonellae. Vaccine has not been evaluated in children under 2 years of age. Nevertheless, it is known that the children under this age may show a sub-optimal response to polysaccharide antigen vaccines. The decision to use the vaccine in this age group should be based upon the risk of exposure to disease. Appropriate medical treatment and supervision should always be readily available in case of a rare anaphylactic reactions following the administration of the vaccine.Typhoid vaccine under no circumtances be administered intravenously.
