Indications

Tizanidine is primarily indicated in conditions like Cerebral palsy, Cerebrovascular accident, Myelopathy, Nausea and vomiting (acute attacks), Sclerosis, Spasticity, Spastiicity associated with multiple sclerosis.

Side Effects

Tizanidine in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Hepatitis .

Tizanidine is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Dizziness, Drowsiness, Dry mouth, Fatigue, GI disturbance, Hallucination , Insomnia, Muscle weakness, Nausea, SomnolenceX.

Warnings / Precautions

Tizanidine should be used with caution in patients with any allergy, low blood pressure, liver, heart or kidney disease or eye disease. Limit the use of alcohol as alcohol may intensify the dizziness and drowsiness effects of tizanidine. It should be used caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, such as operating machinery. It should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Caution is advised when this drug is used in the elderly persons.
