Acute poisoning with organophosphorus ester
A compound containing phosphorus bounds to an organic moleculecule is called organophosphorus compounds. Several organophosphorus compounds are used as insecticides and they are highly toxic acetylcholinesterase inhibiter. After their inhalation ocular and respiratory effect appear first. Ocular effects include marked miosis, ocular pain, conjunctival congestion, diminished vision, ciliary spasm and brow ache. Respiratory efects consist of tightness in the chest and wheezing respiration. Gastrointestinal symptoms occur after ingestion includes anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea.
