Description

Scilla serrata Forskal. A crustacean inhabitant of sea and river having ten legs and hard back. Female is considered more appropriate for medicinal use, when a pin is inserted in the back, particular mucilage oozes out. Taken off the legs it is made into soup for consumption. Medicinally used in the form of ash (obtained following G/7-e-Hikmat process
