Kaolinum is also known as Bolus Alba.

The English names for this herb are China Clay, Porcelain Clay.

Warning: For toilet purposes it should be sterilised by roasting; cases of tetanus have arisen from the use of common varieties. Kaolin should not contain more than traces of iron, and on ignition it should not leave less than 85 per cent. of non-volatile residue.

Description

Kaolinum. Kaolin is a very soft clay, crumbling to powder when pressed between the fingers and having slighty soapy feel. It is white, has a density of 2.3 and is insoluble in water
