Description

Wrightia tinctoria R. Br. A small deciduous tree with a light gray, scaly smooth bark, branchlets glabrous or puberulous. Leaves elliptic, oblong or ovate, acute or acuminate. Inflorescence a lax terminal cyme. Flowers white or yellowish, fragrant. Follicles united at the apex when young, cylindrical, glabrous. Seeds 1.25-2 cm long, pale brown; coma twice as long as seeds(203). Bark over the stem is free from red colouring matter and smooth. Root bark dark brown or black and here and there marked with warty growths
