Side Effects

Quetiapine in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Neuroleptic malignant syndrome , Tachycardia , Neutropenia , Transient leucopenia .

Quetiapine is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Constipation , Dizziness, Dry mouth, Liver enzyme abnormalities, Orthostatic hypotension, SomnolenceX.

Warnings / Precautions

Quetiapine should be used with caution in patients with any allergy (especially drug allergies), liver or heart disease, blood vessel disease, very low blood pressure, seizure disorder or brain cancer. Get up slowly, to avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position. Limit alcohol intake as it may aggravate side effects. Caution is advised when performing activities requiring mental alertness (e.g.driving). This drug might hinder body temperature control, it is advised not to exercise strenuously and to avoid extreme heat while using this. It should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Avoid use during lactation. Caution when this drug is used in the elderly.
