Absorption: Dalteparin has an oral bioavailability is 43.5% (±43.5%).

Distribution: Dalteparin has a volume of distribution is 40 - 60 ml/kg.

Elimination: plasma half-life is 3-5 hr after s/c injection 2 hr after IV inj.

Dalteparin is contraindicated in conditions like Thrombocytopenia, Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Side Effects

Dalteparin in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Thrombocytopenia , Anaphylactic reactions .

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Dalteparin are Easy brusing, Easy brusing, Black,tarry stools..

Dalteparin is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Bleeding , Bullous rash, Fever, Pruritus , Reaction at injection site.

Warnings / Precautions

Dalteparin should be used with caution in patients with medical history, especially have any bleeding disorders, ulcers, liver disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, heart disease, history of stroke or allergies, especially to heparin. This medication is classified as pregnancy category B and should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or lactation.

Interference in Pathology

Dalteparin may interfere in the diagnosis of Elevations of SGPT and SGOT , Elevation in ALT or AST.
