Pramoxine HCl is an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) used in numerous over the counter (OTC) and prescription applications as an anti-itch agent in topical creams, topical jellies, rectal suppositories, rectal foam and ointments. It is local anaesthetic for topical application. Pramoxine is crystalline in nature with a white to off white appearance. Its unique molecular structure is much different than benzocaine (ester) and lidocaine (amide).
