Nandrolone

Nandrolone is an anabolic steroid with some androgenic properties. It is a sex hormone, with actions and adverse effects similer to testosterone. Chemically itis 17ß-[(1-oxodecyl) oxy] ester-4-en-3-one. It has androgenic,progestogenic and erythropoietic activity, but anabolic effects greater than androgenic effects. Used in treatment of debilitating illness and carcinoma of the breast. Its derivative Nandrolone (Decanoate) is given only through parentrally, not active when given orally. Nandrolone sodium sulfate has been used topically in the treatment of corneal damage.

Indications
Nandrolone is primarily indicated in conditions like Anaemia, Aplastic anemia, Breast cancer, Corneal infection, Corneal injury, Corneal ulcers, Osteoporosis.
Nandrolone is also indicated for secondary conditions like Chronic debilitating disease, Renal failure, Surgery.
Contraindications
Nandrolone is contraindicated in conditions like Prostatic cancer, Male breast carcinoma.
