Side Effects

Propiomazine in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Urinary retention, Psychomotor impairment, Sweating , Blood disorders , Convulsions , Fever , Irregular heart beat.

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Propiomazine are difficulty in breathing, Dry mouth, Convulsions , Myalgia, fatigue, Ataxia, Excitation .

Propiomazine is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Blurred vision, Diarrhea, Dizziness, Drowsiness, Headache, Lassitude , Nausea and vomiting, Skin rash.

Warnings / Precautions

Cautions should be taken in patients with epilepsy. It excreted in form of active metabolite in urine so dosage reduction may be necessary in renal impairement. Donot drive because it may produce drowziness. Avoid alcohol.

Interference in Pathology

Propiomazine may interfere in the diagnosis of False +ve phentolamine test.
