Side Effects

Cyclopenthiazide in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Cholestatic jaundice , Impotence , Loss of libido .

Cyclopenthiazide produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Blood dyscrasias, Hyponatremia, Hypokalemia, Stevens Johnson syndrome, Pancreatitis , Anaphylaxis , Necrotizing vasculitis, Vasculitis . Careful monitoring is needed with proper medical management.

Cyclopenthiazide is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Glucose intolerance, Reduced uric acid urinary excretion, Volume depletion.

Warnings / Precautions

It should be used with caution in patients with a history of hypersensitivity thiazide or related diuretics or sulfonamide and in patients with hepatic or hepatic disease.

Interference in Pathology

Cyclopenthiazide may interfere in the diagnosis of Benedicts Test for Urinary Reducing Substance.
