Side Effects

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Ethchlorvynol are Confusion , Respiratory depression, Hypothermia, Fever, Ataxia, Respiratory depression, Thrombocytopenia , Respiratory depression.

Ethchlorvynol is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Blurred vision, Dizziness, Facial numbness, Hypersensitivity , Hypotension , Nausea and vomiting, Skin rashes, Stomachache .

Warnings / Precautions

Avoiding use of alcohol or other CNS depressants. Caution if dizziness, light headedness or daytime drowsiness occurs. Gradual dosage reduction may be necessary to avoid possibility of withdrawl symptoms. It's not compatible with intravenous injection

Interference in Pathology

Ethchlorvynol may interfere in the diagnosis of false+ve phentolamine test.
