Side Effects

Mirtazapine in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Jaundice , Jaundice , Increase in liver enzymes.

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Mirtazapine are Convulsions , Leucopenia , Hallucinations , Postural hypotension, Tremor, Paresthesia, Mania , Granulocytopenia, Reversible agranulocytosis.

Mirtazapine is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Agitation , dizziness, Drowsiness, Headache, Increased appetite, Increased weight, Nightmares, Sedation , Skin rashes.

Warnings / Precautions

All patients being treated with antidepressants for any indication should be monitored appropriately and observed closely for clinical worsening, suicidality, and unusual changes in behavior, especially during the initial few months of a course of drug therapy, or at times of dose changes, either increases or decreases. Should be given cuation with hepatic impairment .

Interference in Pathology

Mirtazapine may interfere in the diagnosis of Elevation in ALT or AST.
