Indications
Polidocanol is primarily indicated in conditions like Oesophageal varices, Varicose veins.
Contraindications
Polidocanol is contraindicated in conditions like Thromboembolism, Hypersensitivity to any component of product.

Apply gentle pressure to prevent vein rupture. Wear Compression stockings or support Hose on treated legs continuously for 2-3days and for 5-7 days after treatment of spider veins and reticular veins respectively. Advise patient to walk for 15-20 minutes daily for few days. Advise patient to avoid heavy excercise, sunbathing, long plane flights and hot bath or sauna. |

Side Effects
Polidocanol in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Pulmonary embolism , Paresthesia, Dizziness , Loss of consciousness.
Polidocanol produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Anaphylactic shock, Syncope, Cardiac Arrest , Dyspnea, Vaso-vagal attacks, Asthma , Angioedema , Reversible ischemic neurological deficit, Circulatory collapse, cerebrovascular accident, deep vein thrombosis. Careful monitoring is needed with proper medical management.
The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Polidocanol are Necrosis.
Polidocanol is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Dermatitis, Hot flushes, ijection site warmth, injection site discoloration, Injection site hematoma, injection site pain, injection site pruritus, Injection site reactions, Necrosis , neovascularisation, nerve injury, Pain , Pruritus , Pyrexia , skin hyperpigmentation.
