Manganese in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Cholestatic jaundice , Extrapyramidal symptoms, Hypermanganesemia, Impaired biliary secretion.

It should be used cautiously in young children and pregnant females. In biliary tract or hepatic dysfunction increased blood concentrations may result because manganese is normally excreted in bile.
