Side Effects

Factor IX in overdosage may give rise to further complications which include Urticaria , Hepatitis , HIV vieus transmission.

Factor IX produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Myocardial infarction, Pulmonary embolism, Disseminated intravascular coagulation, deep vein thrombosis. Careful monitoring is needed with proper medical management.

The signs and symptoms that are produced after acute overdosage of Factor IX are Hemorrhage , Venous thromboembolism, Myocardial infarction.

Factor IX is known to cause more or less tolerable side effects which are usually transient. These include Chills, Fever, Flushing, Headache, Nausea and vomiting, Unpleasant taste.

Warnings / Precautions

It should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy.It should be used with cauiton in patients with any pre-existing diseases or any allergies. Before and during injection check heart rate.The dose or rate of infusion may need to be changed if heart rate is too fast.Should be used with care in patients with theomboembolism.

Interference in Pathology

Factor IX may interfere in the diagnosis of Increased Alkaline Phosphatase Levels, Elevation in ALT or AST.
